South Brevard has experienced tremendous growth in the past several years. The areas of Palm Bay and West Melbourne have grown exponentially, with new communities popping up all the time.

Melbourne has long been an established city, anchored by large corporations such as Harris, Northrop Grumman and Rockwell Collins. The Melbourne International Airport and the Florida Institute of Technology are also great assets to the area.

Downtown Melbourne and Eau Gallie are rich in cultural activities, with art galleries, the Brevard Art Museum, shops and unique dining experiences.

For a change of pace, the southernmost parts of Brevard County are much more laid back. Grant-Valkaria is a former fishing village/agricultural center that still maintains the charm of its rural roots. Riverfront property is a valuable asset to the area, and there are several waterfront parks and boating spots. This town is also home to the Grant Seafood Festival, which draws thousands of people each year.

Barefoot Bay and Micco are comprised primarily of retirees and senior citizens. There are several 55+ communities with great amenities such as community pools and shuffleboard.
